There are several things I cling to to survive the cold, dark winter. One of them is music; listening and singing. It energizes me and lifts my spirit. I joined the Whatcom Chorale a year ago. I love the challenge of learning new music and training my voice, as well as interacting with wonderful people. When our voices blend in perfect harmony and expression it is magical...rapturous...it makes me giddy :) We have started the spring semester, and we will be singing selections from the Oxford Choral Classics Opera Choruses. One of them is Lohengrin's Bridal Chorus. There are words to it, in German and English, and it's not "Here comes the bride" at all! It's actually a beautiful piece. Who'da thought.
